Deep Search

Hey Innovation Lab team,
I’m reaching out with a big ask—on behalf of myself and every researcher who’s ever spent three hours trying to find a single policy page that should have been easy to locate.
Here’s the reality:
When we’re asked to research a specific topic (like supports for low-income seniors), we need to gather information across every province and federal department. That means digging through multiple sites, search engines, PDFs, old archived pages, broken links, and inconsistent language. We spend so much time just finding the content, we barely have time to analyze or synthesize it.
Honestly? It’s exhausting.
We open 30 tabs, miss key documents, and sometimes overlook great resources simply because they’re buried three clicks too deep or labeled differently.
So here’s my dream:
A tool that lets us search across all federal and provincial government websites at once—with filters, keyword highlights, and maybe even some AI magic to summarize or prioritize what’s most relevant.
If something like this existed, we could cut hours of work, reduce research fatigue, and focus on making smart recommendations faster.
We don’t want bells and whistles. Just a powerful, clean tool that actually understands what we’re looking for—and gets us there.
